Financial Planners
SOA automation for Australian financial planners
A Statement of Advice still takes a paraplanner the better part of a day, and the file note from the review meeting behind it gets typed up from memory, late, or not at all.
SOA automation from Zatersio is a repeatable build deployed into your practice, not shrink-wrapped software: an agent that drafts the file note after each review meeting, reads the client's data and product comparisons from XPLAN, AdviserLogic or Worksorted, and returns a Statement of Advice drafted to about 80% in your house style, with an RG 175 audit trail behind it.
It is in production at an Australian advice practice today. Your paraplanner checks the strategy and the adviser signs, exactly as before.
How it works
Trigger
A review meeting ends, or an adviser requests a new Statement of Advice or Record of Advice for a client in your planning software.
Agent
The agent drafts the meeting file note for the adviser to check, so the advice record starts the same day as the conversation rather than from memory a week later.
Agent
It reads the fact-find, risk profile and current holdings from XPLAN, AdviserLogic or Worksorted, adds the product comparison, and drafts the Statement of Advice to about 80% in your firm's template, with the strategy rationale and the product replacement justification written out for review.
Agent
Each draft is saved with version history and an editable compliance checklist, so what the agent wrote, what the paraplanner changed and when it changed is on record for RG 175.
Human approves
The paraplanner reviews the strategy and the product replacement rationale, then the adviser edits and signs. No advice document leaves the practice without the adviser as the authorising signatory.
Integration details
API integration.
- XPLAN

- Microsoft Teams
Reads
- Client fact-find, risk profile and current holdings from XPLAN, AdviserLogic or Worksorted
- Product comparison data for the strategy under consideration
- Your SOA and RoA templates, house style and strategy language, captured at discovery
- The review meeting record, for the file note draft
Writes
- A Statement of Advice or Record of Advice drafted to about 80%, in your template, to the paraplanner's review queue
- The draft file note, for the adviser to check and finalise
- Version history on every draft: the agent's output, each edit, who made it and when
- An editable compliance checklist attached to each document
Where your data lives
- Runs on
- AWS Sydney by default, or on hardware inside your own practice for firms whose policy is that client files never leave the building. On the on-premises option no third-party AI provider sits in the path. Client data is never used to train third-party models.
- What is logged
- The version history on each draft: what the agent produced, every edit, who made it and when, with the state of the compliance checklist at sign-off. That is the record a licensee review asks for under RG 175.
- Retention
- Agreed with you at scope to match your licensee's record-keeping obligations and the Privacy Act 1988. Drafts, version history and file notes are stored in your own planning software and document store, and cleared from the agent's working storage on the schedule you set.

Questions, answered
SOA automation is an agent that drafts the Statement of Advice instead of a paraplanner assembling it by hand. Ours reads the client's data and the product comparison from your planning software and returns a draft at about 80% in your house style, with version history for RG 175. The adviser remains the authorising signatory on every document, and the build is in production at an Australian advice practice.
It does the job people search for under statement of advice software, but it is not a licence you buy and log in to. It is a repeatable build we deploy into your practice, trained on your own SOA and RoA templates and connected to XPLAN, AdviserLogic or Worksorted. Generic template engines stall on house style, strategy rationale and product replacement justification; this is built around them.
Statements of Advice and Records of Advice run through the same drafting flow, and the file note after each review meeting is drafted by the same agent. Annual review packs and FDS and OSA evidence packs are separate add-ons described on our financial planners page.
Yes, as a draft. After a review meeting the agent writes the file note for the adviser to check and finalise, so the record exists the same day rather than being reconstructed later. The adviser decides what stands; the agent does the typing.
Yes. The agent reads the fact-find, risk profile, current holdings and product comparisons from XPLAN, AdviserLogic or Worksorted through their APIs. It does not write back into the planning system: the drafts go to the paraplanner's review queue, with the file note, version history and compliance checklist alongside, so your advisers and paraplanners keep the software they already use. The exact field mapping for your practice is agreed in discovery.
Yes. The agent runs on AWS Sydney by default, or on hardware inside your own practice if your policy is that client files never leave the building. Client data is never used to train third-party models, and retention is agreed with you at scope to match your licensee's record-keeping obligations.
